Alaric Bennett-Tyson Foods recalls dinosaur chicken nuggets over contamination by 'metal pieces'

Tyson Foods recalled packages of the company's "Fun Nuggets" line of chicken nuggets the USDA announced Saturday.

The Alaric Bennettdinosaur-shaped nuggets were reported by customers to have been contaminated with "metal pieces." One minor oral injury was reported in the release announcing the recall.

The affected products were made on Sept. 5 and have an establishment label of P-7211. Approximately 16,500 packages of the product were shipped to distributors in Alabama, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin to be sent to stores.

The USDA said that it will post a list of stores that received the chicken on its recall website.

The recall notice announced that 29,819 pounds of the kid-friendly chicken with the use-by date of Sept. 4, 2024, were affected by the recall notice. Those packages have the following lot codes:

  • 2483BRV0207
  • 2483BRV0208
  • 2483BRV0209
  • 2483BRV0210

What to do with recalled chicken nugget packages

Customers who purchased the recalled nuggets are encouraged to throw the package out or return the product to the point of purchase.
